Why You Keep Breaking Out
Mother Nature called and she said you need to nurture your gut and balance your hormones...
WHAT’S REALLY CAUSING YOUR BREAKOUTS?
Hello It Girls! I’m back with the second iteration of the Musings of an It Girl Newsletter. First, I just want to extend my gratitude to my newest subscribers — welcome to the It Girl Community, I am so thankful to have you here!
A fresh month and week is upon us, which means we’re probably all reflecting on the month of July and how we can improve, or maintain, our progress towards our goals for the month of August. For me, I’ve already decided that the month of August is going to be dedicated to me working on improving my gut health, balancing my hormones and healing my skin from the onslaught of breakouts I received in July. Yes, even when you’re someone like me who never skips her skincare routine and gets monthly facials, you can still suffer from breakouts. That’s because often times your breakouts are related to something other than the fact that you slept in your makeup. Usually, a breakout is telling you that there is something going on inside of your body that requires your attention. Maybe it’s an undiagnosed food allergy, or an underlying thyroid issue or perhaps it’s just the result of stress. One method you can use to help figure out the cause is to utilize an ancient Chinese concept called face mapping, which is a practice that helps you discover underlying health issues or body stressors based on the location of your acne breakouts. For me, my breakouts were telling me that I needed to pay attention to my gut health and digestion. If you’re also struggling with breakouts and aren’t sure what they could be telling you, I’m including a face map guide that I’ve created for your convenience so you can save it to your phone and easily reference. I’ll also be including some references below on face mapping.
If you believe the underlying cause of your breakouts could be related to a serious health issue or disorder please contact your doctor and do not rely on simple self-medication.
